Therefore My Heart Is Glad is a solo movement from Yet Shall He Live (2025) a new 70-minute sacred oratorio by Timothy Max portraying the death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ. Following a harrowing movement that depicts Christ’s Crucifixion, Simon Peter sings this solo, rejoicing in Christ’s sacrifice and declaring, “For thou wilt not leave my soul in hell.”

A four-part choral transcription was completed in 2026 and premiered on April 10, 2026, by the Brigham Young University–Hawaii Ho‘olōkahi Chamber Choir in Laie, Hawaii.

This piece is available in two formats, both of which may be performed with or without orchestration:

• Tenor solo
• SATB Choir
