TIMOTHY MAX
COMPOSER/ARRANGER
Timothy Max is composer of sacred and modern music, writing for choir, orchestra, organ, and piano. He has written many arrangements of Latter-day Saint hymns.
Music has given Tim many unique opportunities. In the early 2000’s Tim performed and recorded extensively with Millennium Choir, a semi-professional ensemble directed by Hollywood composer Lex de Azevedo.
During Tim’s undergraduate studies, he participated in many school and university tours, including domestic US tours, and international tours to China and Mongolia. As a result of his performing travels, he developed friendships in China and later spent a year teaching English to 200 college-age students in rural city of Huaibei, Anhui.
Tim completed his BA in music from Brigham Young University-Hawaii, studying with composer, Dr. Daniel Bradshaw. At BYU-Hawaii, Tim frequently arranged and performed music for concerts and devotionals, participating in several university ensembles. Choirs at BYU-Hawaii have premiered several of Tim’s pieces at home and abroad.
Tim currently resides in Houston, Texas. He has worked in the Music Department at Lone Star College-Kingwood, Executive Assistant to the Lake Houston Musical Arts Society, and Executive Director for the Houston Masterworks Chorus.
